What I Learned This Year…
What I learned

This past year has been incredible and a huge growth year for me. An amazing, enlightening, and thrilling ride. I’ve learned so much, but there are three things from my journey that I want to share with you. When we are able to share our vulnerabilities as well as our strengths, we are all enriched. Here’s what I learned this year…

Fear

What It Does

This is what I know now about fear. Fear will chew you up and spit you out before you even start on the path to your dreams. Fear will cause you to make a dozen low key bad choices to avoid facing it. Fear will eat you up inside until it paralyzes you.

It will also keep you for standing up for what is important to you. You see, fear is our biggest competitor. Fear is our bully.

Moving Past It

I also now know that when you actually face down your fear it is rendered harmless. It’s no longer able to act as a gatekeeper to the possibilities in your life. When you conquer your fears, you gain strength in the realization that your version of the worst-case scenario didn’t break you.

Facing your fears is one of life’s greatest triumphs. When you learn to extinguish your fears you will become unstoppable.

Keeping It At Bay

Once we realize that we are giving our fears power that they don’t deserve we change. We tend to view challenges through a different lens. Problems that we may encounter don’t seem so insurmountable anymore.

Once you conquer your fear dragon, throw him in a cage and never let him out.

The Grind

Don’t Cheat It

Someone once said that anything worth having is worth working for. I agree 1000%. The grind towards your goals is so key to your growth.

There are so many little actions that you will perform to meet your goals as you watch your dreams take shape. It’s all worth it. Never cheat the grind, because it’s the best part of the journey toward catching your dreams.

Live It

You have to live and breathe the grind every day. If you are doing something you love it will no longer feel like one. The grind will instead transform into a vehicle that will get you one step closer to achieving your goals.

When you are pursuing your passion try to live it and breathe it. If you do that consistently, after a while that spark will turn into a bonfire.

Most Rewarding

How sweet it will be when you finally reach your goals fully aware of all of the struggle and hard work that went into it. The pride that comes from something that you’ve built brick by brick can’t be underestimated.

Meaning

I’ve learned that everyone has a different path and it’s up to us to find meaning in our own lives. Figuring out where your happiness lies and your true purpose will allow you to experience tremendous growth and life satisfaction.

One of my purposes in life is to empower women who like myself, are doing life a little differently than the status quo. It adds joy to my life to contribute to the world in this way.

So in closing

  • Face Down Your Fears
  • Don’t Cheat The Grind
  • Find The Meaning In Your Own Life

Here’s to the year that was 2023 and an even better 2024 everyone!
